The Department was formerly called the Department of Social Studies Education. In response to the restructuring and transformation of the university, the Department was officially renamed in August 2009 with the approval of the Ministry of Education; it is no longer affiliated with the teacher training education program. In terms of admission, the Department offers Daytime Bachelor’s Programs, Daytime Master’s Programs (including the Division of Social Development and Division of Regional Development), Social Studies In-service Master’s Programs (Weekend and Holiday Programs), and Multiculturism and Development In-service Master's Programs (Evening Program).
